Day Shift starring Snoop Dogg review

Jamie Foxxand Dave Franco star in the vampire hunting movie "Day Shift". The movie follows the story of a hard working blue collar dad who just wants to provide a good life for his quick-witted daughter, but his mundane San Fernando Valley pool cleaning job is a front for his real source of income, hunting and killing vampires as part of an international Union of vampire hunters.

It sounds like a fun idea, but can J.J. Perry bring it to life?

The opening scene of the movie is a bonkers action sequence with Jamie Foxx shotgun blasting the hell out of an old lady who turns out to be a vampire. The two of them then have a wild fight that turns out to be a great time. I felt that the movie had a lot of fun using this type of ragdoll physicality in its action sequences, making them pop in ways that other Netflix action movies and blockbusters don't.

Day Shift, is the movie that makes you feel so bad you're actually enjoying it. It's so obvious what they were trying to do, and yet they failed so miserably. It is lacking in acting ability, dialogue, and plot. I still enjoyed it. Maybe it's my obsession with vampire movies, maybe it's just because I like watching bad movies. Day Shift was great. While it's not the best movie, it's great fun. That's all I need from a movie of this quality.

Day Shift had mixed reviews. There is some great action and fun characters (the brothers Seth and Seth), but the villain is horrible and there are many mediocre characters. There were scenes that could have been added but they didn't. Bud's neighbor behaves like she's a friend, even though she only had 3 minutes of screentime before the final scene. I guess that helps the better characters shine even more. Overall, it's an enjoyable movie, but it could have been better.

Snoop Dogg almost got lost in my thoughts. He's great in Day Shift. The whole movie is worth it because of him. His character is funny, and he can deliver some amazing lines. But he is also so natural in his role. (Click Here) It's like he was born to play it.
